BALA CYNWYD, PA OMICRON CONSULTING, a leading technology consulting
firm, announced the release of its TRIO Solution today. Designed through a revolutionary
architecture and developed by OMICRON, this solution makes it straightforward to
extract, display and input data to and from SAP using the baseline Microsoft Office
and development products. "This solution is currently helping clients fulfill the
data visualization and deployment strategy as a companion to their core SAP implementation,"
says Randy M. Pritzker, Omicron's CEO. Pritzker continues, "Many of our clients
are exhausted, have depleted budgets and are therefore in need of a method to interface
with SAP modules to provide access to information now contained with the SAP system.
We drew upon most user community's competence with Office as an interface and leveraged
a unique architectural approach. Instead of developing new complex SAP GUI's, we
implemented Microsoft SharePoint and Silverlight interfaces to SAP. Consequently,
this approach enables Omicron to do in just a few months, at a substantially lesser
cost, what would otherwise normally take a year within the SAP environment."
The TRIO Solution takes advantage of XML standards in the creation of a configurable
interface layer into SAP. This allows users to extract and insert data along with
a read/write abstract layer while directing the interface to Microsoft’s UI technologies
(Silverlight), SharePoint, Office and others. The power of this interface approach
exposes SAP data to a wealth of Microsoft platform products and allows companies
to develop reporting, BI, Portal and other line of business applications with the
efficiency inherent within the Microsoft tool sets. This also leverages the more
available Microsoft skill sets found within most organizations, leaving them less
reliant on recruiting and maintaining more expensive SAP staff.
"What we did was to erase the stigma of seeing SAP as this vast and unapproachable
data source able to economically address lighter, though critical, data and application
needs," comments Al Turano, Practice Manager for TRIO. "We have also made it straightforward
to combine SAP data with information from other databases, such as CRM, Project
Planning and Production, in order to support the creation of composite applications."
