Visual Batch!
This web feature allows users to visually interact with batch data from within a portal or dashboard. You can overlay multiple batches to allow visual comparison. The underlying point data can be exported to your favorite program for offline analysis.

Features Include:
- Supports the full S88 recipe hierarchy
- Roll-up, Drill down and Filtering on each level
- Visually see your Operations ons creen
- Compare batches by overlaying historical data
- Export batch data to offline programs, such as Microsoft Excel
- Feed other Sharepoint web parts

Visual Batch! is ready to be
installed onto a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 server. It will output
Microsoft Excel 2007 compatible data in OpenXML format |
 |
Visual Batch! can also be configured to work on any Silverlight-enabled web
platform, including standard ASP.NET websites. It can export to just about any
data format you may need. |
How It Works
The core components of
Visual Batch! consist of a Silverlight application which can be hosted
within a SharePoint web part or standalone, a Windows Communication Foundation
service hosted on the IIS server, and a component that manages the generation of
MS Excel OpenXML files. The
application can retrieve its configuration data either from SharePoint or
another data source. Real-time data
is queried by the WCF service via OLEDB.
All queries are brokered by the WCF server and not executed directly by
the browser client Silverlight application.
We also offer custom SDK-based data access depending on your specific
needs.

Output
Microsoft Excel output is generated in OpenXML (Office 2007) format. OpenXML is supported in Excel 2003
when the Compatibility Viewer is installed.
The file contains the tag values with timestamps and a XY Chart of the tags over
the time range.
Many other file formats can be supported.

Uses
Shop Floor
Visual Batch! is a valuable tool
for operators to not only monitor shop operations, but also to help make
predictions on future conditions. Using visual batch to compare to expected
conditions, you can predict when conditions are ripe for a batch to fail and an
operator can then take proactive, preventative measures to save significant
costs.
Using
Visual Batch! to feed into trend web
parts, you can visually track the flow of material through your process and
compare efficiency to an average over time or to the ideal conditions.
Operations
Ops Centers typically have a variety of screens
posted that are monitored in real-time around the clock.
Visual Batch! acts as a filter and a feed
into Trend and other web parts in order to configure Ops screens.
Management
Use
Visual Batch! to easily find, surface, and
correlate batch information with KPIs, real time data, financial data,
manufacturing data, or other data sources.
Use
Visual Batch! to find and output the data
inputs to feed a web-based Batch Scorecard.
Use
Visual Batch! to find and output the data
inputs for statistical analysis and predictive multivariate analysis correlated
by batch.
Generation & Asset Management
Use
Visual Batch! to play “what if” and
experiment with possible future conditions to measure how production is
affected, based on past performance. You can also enable small-scale
experimentation and modeling into larger-scale production scenarios, using
predictive analysis tools like Microsoft Excel or MatLab.
Implementing
Visual Batch! contains core
functionality developed by Omicron that:
·
Supports the full S88 recipe hierarchy
·
Roll-up, Drill down and Filtering on each level
·
Visually see your Operations on screen
·
Compare batches by overlaying historical data
·
Export batch data to offline programs, such as
Microsoft Excel
·
Feed other SharePoint web parts
Visual Batch! can be extended to output data to any file format, enabling
users to use PI data offline. Such data can be used as input to other
applications, added to a report, or used as a backup.
While
Visual Batch! is a Microsoft SharePoint based web part, it can easily be
extended to run on any standard web page, or even outside a web server on a
client workstation or laptop.
For validated environments, Omicron has IQ and OQ templates for Visual Batch!
that will fit most company requirements.
In order to implement
Visual Batch!, one or more servers with IIS (Internet Information Server) 6 or
greater (Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or better) are required to host the back
end and front end components. The
back end service also requires the PI OLEDB driver. If you require higher performance
access to data servicing many simultaneous end users, inquire about our
application tier PI caching and scalability solutions.
Visual batch!
is easily configurable, by Omicron, to address your specific S88
implementation, security requirements and data export requirements.
System
Requirements:
