Omicron has provided product development services to large and small companies alike. One example of our work for a large software manufacturer is our work with Microsoft Corporation. Omicron worked with Microsoft before Microsoft VBA was released as a product. During this time we helped Microsoft with the business planning and market targeting of the platform. Once VBA was announced as an OEM ISV product, Omicron helped software companies evaluate and implement the VBA SDK for inclusion into products. As a result of this work, when it came time to produce the Version 6.1 release of VBA, Omicron worked directly for Microsoft under contract on that release.
More recently, Omicron and Microsoft partnered to jointly develop an architecture and deployment plan that demonstrated to West Pharmaceutical the value of a Microsoft infrastructure. This was the very first engagement where Omicron acted as a subcontractor to Microsoft Consulting. Omicron and Microsoft developed an architecture which took into account the stringent security requirements of a paramedical company. The team was able to design a security feature into the architecture that, when implemented, would resolve an issue recently cited in a SOX audit. In addition to the robust architecture, the team developed an implementation plan that would enable West Pharmaceutical to coexist with Novell during their international deployment.
Omicron has maintained a unique relationship with Microsoft, serving as a strategic partner in the deployment of Microsoft technologies as well as a consultant and software developer to Microsoft itself. Omicron was the first Microsoft Certified Partner in the Greater PA District to receive a dual Gold Certification. See also Partners > Microsoft and Advanced Performance Centers > Microsoft APC.
