RtReports Workshop
Offering:
With a unique perspective on the ‘prerequisite’ environment and process of how to best implement RtReports in a regulated environment,
Omicron has designed the "RtReports Workshop" to help companies develop an effective strategy for jumpstarting an RtReports installation.
Program Value Statement: When Is RtReports The Right Tool?
- Simplify Complex Regulatory Compliance Reports – RtReports offers a structure and solution to make compliance report issues manageable.
- Increase Ratio of On Target Quality Production – Generally, reporting is used after the fact to give visibility to the manufacturing process. RtReports allows companies to have a greater visibility during the batch approval process to allow the quality management to be more effective.
- Production Improvement & Management – RtReports allows users to create operational reports that are flexible while being specific to equipment in the manufacturing line.
Compliance with Security & Audits – RtReports allows the data, programs and process associated with compliance reporting to be managed with the appropriate level of security and audit trail required.
General Offering Description: The following is a general description of the "RtReports Workshop" offering.
OSIsoft RtReports and OSIsoft Module/Batch Database
OSIsoft provides two valuable components of the RtPM platform in both the Module and Batch Databases.
The Module database turns a ‘flat’, tag-based PI Server to a context enabled hierarchical alias driven platform. Aliases allow users to access tags and data in a much easier way then having to remember tag names.
The Batch database adds product, recipe, and batch information into the powerful PI system. Once this information is configured in a PI system, users are positioned to access the trend/time-series data as a function of product, unit, batch, etc., not just as a function of time.
RtReports was built to exploit the Module Database and Batch Database. It does this in a compliant manner. This infrastructure helps users easily create compliance reports for the areas on the left.
RtReports 101 – The Fundamentals of
Planning & Implementation
The RtReports Workshop is an individualized tutorial which focuses on your company’s specific issues, PI infrastructure, business needs and goals. There are two areas of focus for a customer to have a complete roadmap for adoption. The first area entails understanding and visioning. This area focuses on education allowing customers to understand the capabilities of the tool and design an approach for use. The second area is implementation architecture and planning.
A. RtReports Workshop
- Session 1: Theory of Operations – It is fundamental to understand the underlying theory of operations of RtReports, including how XML and XPath are used to build the product. Once this understanding is gained, the workshop will focus on fully utilizing the RtReports capabilities.
- Session 2: Prerequisites – “Must haves” and “nice to haves” for a smooth installation.
- Session 3: Installation Guidance – Cover standard and unique methods of RtReports installation.
- Session 4: Interactions with Templates – Leveraging Aliases, Properties, Events, Calculations and Batch Report Sections to create complex, self-describing templates.
- Session 5: Run-time Interaction with RtReports – How users interact with the run-time part of the product and describes unique usage options for leveraging the platform for “applications” beyond reporting.
- Session 6: Tips and Tricks – Omicron will describe some of the lessons learned in a FAQ/Tips and Tricks session to allow the workshop participants to fully benefit from our experience with RtReports.
B. Implementation Planning
- Session 1: Site Visit for Prerequisite Review – Omicron will review your existing PI infrastructure and recommend a list of actions as prerequisites for your upcoming RtReports installation.
- Session 2: Deployment Planning – Omicron will work with the site to determine the ideal scope for initial rollout and help create the plan for a successful rollout of the new RtReports Platform.
