Solution VerificationTest (SVT)

Omicron has created a unique methodology to help companies adopt new and emerging technology. There are many questions that keep decision makers up at night who are interested in a new technology such as:

  • I think I should use this technology, but I don’t know how it will fit within my existing solutions?
  • What are risks are to adoption and how do I avoid them?
  • I am not sure if a solution can be effectively designed around the new technology?
  • How do I gain acceptance of many interested parties within my company?
  • Once I prove that this works then where do we go?

If questions such as this keep you up at night or have you frozen in your adoption of a new technology, the Solution Verification Test (SVT) framework can provide a path forward to finding the answers.

The SVT framework is a methodology geared specifically toward the review and acceptance of new and emerging technologies. This process works equally for a custom development program, as well as, a solution that leverages one or more off-the-shelf products to solve a problem. This methodology will assist our joint teams in administrating the review and approval of requirements and designs, the construction and acceptance of validation testing and will assure that ALL project deliverables are met. The process includes several phases that are intertwined and when completed, lead to a solid roadmap for implementation of a solution. This roadmap and all the pieces that lead into the plan will have been tested and accepted by both the business and technology parts of a company. The process appears straight forward; however it is the detailed insight and success in similar projects that Omicron leverages during the adoption process. The SVT process is centered on Consensus and Acceptance of all aspects of the process, by all interested parties. Interested parties often include many different groups from around the company. Sometimes these groups are geographically diverse, technically diverse or organizationally diverse.

No matter how diverse the team is, it can leverage the SVT process to reach mutual acceptance. The areas the team needs to gain consensus and acceptance are the solution requirements, design, and validation/test and implementation plan.

The SVT process delivers a defined a solution to an opportunity. It gains the acceptance for the technology and plans the path forward for an initiative. The deliverables of the process include the solution requirements, solution design, test plans and results and implementation plan. These are a by-product of the Consensus and Acceptance that is driven throughout the process. In the final analysis, at the end of the SVT process, a company can be comfortable to adopt a new and emerging technology without the uncertainty that normally plagues a new initiative on a new platform.
