Formed in 1986 and currently headquartered in a state-of-the-art office facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Omicron has become a leader in complex and technically challenging consulting projects. After 18 years and thousands of projects, Omicron is most proud of the stability and safety it has brought to an industry perennially plagued with instability. The average Omicron employee has been with the company between 7-10 years. Our average customer has similarly been a part of our client base between 6-8 years, as these numbers increase each year.
Omicron’s Project Management (Eagle/PM) and Account Management structure ensures that Omicron leaders who guide your initiatives in the beginning will be there throughout your relationship with Omicron, hopefully for many years to come. In addition, given reasonable lead time, Omicron also insists that the team members, already versed in your applications, operations and nuances, are made available again to staff a successful delivery.
It is the philosophies, methodologies and teams which combine to create Omicron as we enjoy it today. We take pride in the willingness of our reference accounts to candidly share their experience with peers considering Omicron. Moreover, we expect our reference customers to be willing to equally share the lessons they have learned related to the project or technology they have embraced.
Omicron's working philosophy is to create long-standing relationships with clients/partners by taking responsibility for the success of every project. Omicron has earned prestigious honors locally and among its strategic partners. For example, Omicron was the first organization within this region to be Dual Gold Certified by Microsoft (in E-commerce and Enterprise Solutions). In addition, Omicron received a Gold Partner Certification from Hewlett-Packard; is a Gold Services partner with OSIsoft; and is a Business Partner with IBM.
With over 120 employees, Omicron is made up of a talented group of computer professionals who help clients select the right approach to satisfying their needs; design systems-based solutions; develop the optimal strategy to implement the technologies; and build and implement the solutions, mitigating the risk through a cost-not-to-exceed engagement structure. Omicron's competitive advantage is its ability to channel its deep expertise to serve its clients' needs through strong, long-lasting client partnerships built on years of project successes. Omicron's core services are application and infrastructure design and architecture, application and infrastructure development and deployment, and regulatory validation services. Omicron is a full life-cycle firm, whose preference is joint or total project management responsibility. Omicron prides itself on the blend of its technical expertise and advance project management capability. Accordingly, Omicron proposes the great majority of its consulting work as project-based, with not-to-exceed limits. Omicron prides itself on the science and artistry of its scope development model. As a project-based firm, our willingness to deliver to predetermined costs and schedules is our confidence in the project methodology supported by our scope development model.
Our President & Founder, Randy M. Pritzker, takes pride in the fact that Omicron has stayed true to its original mission as a technology strategist and equally skillful implementer. To insure that role, Omicron manages a wide variety of unique non-disclosure relationships with many leading technology firms. Omicron has also published 17 books on subjects ranging from Distributed Processing, XML, .NET and other technology topics. All of Omicron’s authors are active consultants within our company, playing a vital role during the architecture and technical design phases of many projects. In 2004, Omicron’s Chief Technology Officer, John Matranga, was selected by Microsoft as one of our nation's Top 100 Technology Architects.
Several years ago, Randy wrote a formal Mission Statement, to secure for all times the character of the firm he had begun. Perhaps most demonstrative of the nature of the Omicron culture and commitment as a technology service provider and employer is the final stanza of Omicron’s Mission Statement:
“Each day we will judge the SUCCESS of our work as the combination of total CUSTOMER satisfaction and
our own sense of PRIDE.”

Omicron is a sharing environment for responsibility, information, expertise and success. To become an Omicron customer is finally to be a part of the true meaning of “partner”. At Omicron, partnership is not an overused word; it is the definition of a culture.
